Encounter Data System Edit 19005 Invalid Supplemental Benefit Details

There has been an increased number of Edit 19005 posting to supplemental benefit encounters.

Edit 19005 may post due to a disagreement between the Supplemental Benefit Service Code (SBSC) and the service year. Since SBSC codes vary by service year, encounters must be submitted using the code list that corresponds to the specific service year.

When submitting encounters, ensure to use the SBSC code list specific to the service year on the encounter. The SBSC code lists are available here: CSSC Operations
